Hey, How Are Your Rates Doing?

The good news is our electric rates are doing well and we do not need any increases at this time. The cooperative, as a non-profit organization, is not in the business of making profits. Our goal is to provide you with reliable and safe energy while having enough revenue to satisfy the bank’s requirements. With that said, you may wonder how we have been able to go without a rate increase for the past six years.

The Future Cost of Electricity

Once again, summer has come and gone way too fast for my way of thinking. School is back in session and fall is just around the corner. That means a lot of football, volleyball, soccer and cross country for us to cheer on our kids and grandkids. That also means it is time for the Kansas State Fair. If you go to the fair be sure to look up the Kansas electric cooperatives’ safety presentation in the Ad Astra Pavilion. It is always a hit with the school kids.

How Butler REC Works for You!

I have had several new members ask what is a cooperative and how does it all work.

I ran across a chart that I thought did a pretty good job of explaining the ins and outs of the electric co-op world so I used that idea and developed my own.

Below is what I came up with and I hope it helps you understand us just a little bit better. Have a great summer!
