More About Dean Thompson

Dean Thompson and his wife, Sandra, live on SW Tawakoni Road east of Benton, having moved there from Sedgwick county a little more than two years ago. They have lived in the Wichita area continuously since 1980, and have four adult children and one grandchild. All of their children live in Wichita and Park City. Thompson attended college at College of the Ozarks (BS, Aviation Science and Business Administration, 1980) and University of Central Missouri (MS, Aviation Safety, also 1980). Thompson is retired after more than 30 years with Beechcraft and Textron Aviation. He held a variety of management positions in aircraft accident investigation, product safety, flight operations safety, and safety management systems. Although no longer an active pilot, he holds a commercial pilot license and airframe and powerplant mechanic licenses, and was a certified flight instructor. Thompson enjoys woodworking and machining as hobbies, while engaged in extensive remodeling of their home. He considers that all of those activities are best if accompanied by bluegrass music! He and Sandra attend Northside Bible Chapel in Kechi, where he is a deacon and trustee.
